Naples' young museum of contemporary art
Museo d'Arte Contemporanea DonnaREgina (MADRe) opened in 2005, in Palazzo Donnaregina, which was purchased by Campania MADRE with funds from the European Community. It is the first museum of this kind in Naples.
Museo d'Arte Contemporanea DonnaREgina (MADRe) features a permanent collection and a historical collection featuring some 100 works. In addition, the museum organizes thematic exhibitions, and spacial events. MADRe also has a broad educational offer that makes the museum a place of learning and research.
